Pale Swallowtail? with odd markings26 Aug 2008 13:18 GMT1
I hope I'm doing this correctly.
I've been attempting to identify a butterfly - images taken in Elkton,
Douglas County, Oregon on May 19, 2008.  The people at BugGuide
suggested I contact you.

I was out photographing bees today and this flew into shot.
I don't recognise it and I have looked it up but no luck.

Indentify insect (mosquito)?19 Aug 2008 14:34 GMT2

The total lenght is about 3 cm (approx 1,20 inches)
White winged flies on horse manure18 Aug 2008 05:18 GMT3
I've researched flies on manure and find many types.  The one
I see on this dung is not found.  I thought it was a white fly
but that is all white.  These flies have black heads and white
wings.  They are quite small, sort of like no-seeums.

Florida's butterflies are dwindling.  I knew that already.  The FDOT
will not still the roadside mowers, where the wildflowers are.  In Bay
County, where I live, they tried to form a coalition for butterflies

Everyone,
The link for the unidentified dusky-wing is long and broken, therefore
try this instead:
