I intend to label monosaccharide (eg: fucose) so that I can quantify
them eventually. However, I only came across DTAF from Molecular
Probes which can label polysaccharides. Does anyone, by any chance,
used this labeling process before or know of other ways of labeling

their Ascospores.

Controlling in vitro bacterial growth without affecting fungus?10 Jul 2004 13:23 GMT1
Hey everyone. Thanks to everyone who offered advice on how to make thin
sections of thalli. I ended up using my forceps as a crude vise to hold
the thallus in position, and I used a sharp, thin, steel razor blade to
slice it. The added advantage of the forceps was that they acted ...

A better antibiotic depletion assay?08 Jul 2004 00:28 GMT1
My lab is currently conducting assays to estimate antibiotic depletion
in various tissues. The method, however, seems clumsy and a bit
imprecise. Essentially, we inoculate agar with _Bacillus cereus_ and
then sink penicylinders into it (by hand, so how deep they go is
