Dear Sir
 My question is
 1.  how to do electrphoresis and zymogram (activity satining of enzymes on electrophoretic gels) of extracellular enzymes from obligate halophiles since high NaCl possess problems in electrophoretic mobility.
 2. How to purify extracellular hydrolytic ...
Pfu polymerase mixed with Taq polymerase29 May 2006 09:33 GMT6
Have heared that one may mix Pfu and Taq polymerases (Fermantas). Taq
is copying Pfu verifying. Have any of u tried this combbination? I'm
planning to introduce two nucleotide changes in 1kb DNA fragment. So
far I made set of 6 PCRs (I'm using so called SOE-PCR method with
alginate beats29 May 2006 09:18 GMT3

Viral Infections of the Cochlea27 May 2006 22:28 GMT2
Cold viruses infect the cells of the walls of cappilaries supplying the
hair cells in the organ of corti of the left cochlea. The viruses do
not kill those cells but transform them into a cancerous state.

Non-oxidative Bacterial Metabolism of Saturated Fatty Acids.26 May 2006 18:23 GMT5
It may seem like I am asking the same questions over and over again. I
am not. Please bear with me.
Can an anaerobic bacterium metabolize a saturated fatty acid in
anaerobic environment w/out *any* oxidation?
which algae/cyanobacteria is this ?26 May 2006 01:38 GMT3
I'm trying to figure out what kind of cyanobacteria or algae would fit

What Chemical Do Anaerobic Bacteria Produce From Dairy Saturated Fatty Acids?23 May 2006 18:23 GMT28
If an anaerobic bacterium is made to feed only the saturated fatty
acids present in butter made from cow's milk, what compounds will the
bacterium excrete in its waste products directly as a result of
processing those fatty acids? Will those compounds smell bad?
Could somebody help ?21 May 2006 14:21 GMT3
I am writing a paper about environmental microbiology ecology. Could
somebody offer some available journals for these. Thanks a lort.
Why Can't Anaerobic Bacteria Metabolize Saturated Fatty Acids?21 May 2006 14:19 GMT5
Why can't anaerobic bacteria metabolize saturated fatty acids in
anaerobic conditions? They can metabolize amino acids, so why can't
they metabolize saturated fatty acids?
Thanks,
Adverse effect of 'microwaved' babys milk??21 May 2006 12:59 GMT2
Leaving aside the localised hotspots within milk heated by microwave, is

Is there a source for detailed information on specific bacteria?16 May 2006 17:01 GMT5
Hello to you all,
I am searching for bacteria with special properties, and I wonder if
there is a database or at least a table where some basic
characteristics of many bacteria are collected.
