911 - controlled demolition ?31 Jul 2005 23:49 GMT57
Curious what peoples opinion is of the theory that WTC 1, 2 and 7 were
brought down by a controlled demolition - not becuase they were hit
by jet(s). I've been doing some research on-line, and it appears the
evidence for a controlled demolition of some sort is overwhelming.
First 500 megawatt nuclear fusion reactor for France31 Jul 2005 21:37 GMT79
Radioactivity ie nuclear fission is due to breaking of the weak nuclear force , I think ,
and fusion due to snapping the strong nuclear force I think. India has been left out of the
consortium and will have to go it alone to produce small neighbourhood fusion power stations.

Modelling bicycle trail - Tough maths?31 Jul 2005 16:34 GMT22
Here's the basic model of a bicycle.
B --------------- A
A is the contact point of the front wheel on the ground and B is that of the
rear wheel. The distance (length) between A and B is fixed, let that be denoted
Help building rail gun31 Jul 2005 14:29 GMT13
Hi!  I am a high school student trying to assemble parts for a physics
project.  I am posting for help in two areas.  First, if anyone can
augment my research by posting a link, I'd love it even if I've already
read it.  Second, I'm trying to assemble a power supply, so if anyone
sanity... do you sail?  are you on east coast of US?  can you speak in plain English without ego?31 Jul 2005 12:43 GMT6
Hi, I am a woman, well educated, who has sailed across the Atlantic a
couple of times and traveled some; would like to correspond with
someone who is educated and doesn't take self too seriously, who might
be able to meet for sailing on Long Island Sound or Chesapeake at some
A question for philosophers31 Jul 2005 08:25 GMT6
This might be more a question for philosophers but is nature more
materialistic (chemical, nuclear etc...) or more geometric?
Compton effect31 Jul 2005 06:58 GMT12
What was the primary significance of Compton's experiment? It wasn't the
demonstration that radiation consists of particles, because this was
shown with the photoelectric effect. Was it that it was the first
demonstration that the particles carried momentum which could be
Legendre Transform31 Jul 2005 05:35 GMT14
I'm trying to get a better understanding of the Legendre Transform.  The
Wikipedia entry[1] for Legendre Transform mentions that it is related to
integration by parts--what is the relationship?  Also, I've heard that
there is a relation to the Laplace transform--what is it?
God likes curses31 Jul 2005 00:56 GMT2
I guess
God uses curses to create justice.  A lot of times God will create a
curse when dishonest people abuse a person.
God punishes the whole group when some of the group does some thing

Why is everyone afraid to say so?  The real problem isn't foam
falling off the fuel tank.  The shuttle was sold to Congress as a
