Schroedingers Cat...01 Jul 2008 00:50 GMT12
Hiyas,
So we have this cat, which is a theoretical cat in a theoretical box,
which is closed off from all outside sources.  How can you possibly shut
this area inside the box from the external?  I mean if gravity is
Things that aren't exact30 Jun 2008 23:48 GMT66
Our measurements are not exact
Our real world math is not exact
And our physics is not exact
Recreation of the Sun30 Jun 2008 23:07 GMT130
God intended mankind to live forever. All civilizations are meant to
live forever. The universe is not going to die. The Sun will be
renewed.

directions of gravity30 Jun 2008 20:10 GMT9
As a basic intro to gravity, we're told it is directed straight
downward to Earth's center.  But then if you look at an incline plane
question, you see that gravity can act on angles, as long as it's
still directed in a downward direction.  We use trigonometry to
acceleration as a function of mass on planning hull?30 Jun 2008 20:07 GMT3
Hey all, I have a question/ argument that hopefully applies to this
group.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So the argument is as follows:
Symmetrical30 Jun 2008 19:45 GMT2
Its the way of the universe.Round is in Spin is in  Harmony is in
Center is in   Natures balancing acts are in. Looking in a mirror is in.
A snow flake is in.  A ball is in. If the ball is spinning its super
symmetrical. Like a photon          Bert
Physics of sound waves (reflection vs transmission) question30 Jun 2008 19:21 GMT1
I'm not a physicist, so I'm hoping someone can answer or point me to
information that explains the following in layman's terms.
I understand that sound can be absorbed, reflected, or transmitted (again,
layman's terms). When building a sound-proof wall, the construction advice
A finitely sized Universe with an infinite force? Hmmm30 Jun 2008 18:06 GMT85
Why would a finitely sized Universe have an infinite force?
Wouldn't that mean that part of the Universe is more Universal than
the Universe itself?
Here's a better solution:
Einstein’s Lamentation That Special Relativity Was    Not A Fundamental Theory30 Jun 2008 17:45 GMT335
I recall reading something by A. Einstein years ago where Einstein was
lamenting the fact that his theory of special relativity was not a
fundamental theory because he had defined distance with measuring rods
and this presupposes more than should be assumed.
Precession effect on helicopter - Why 90 degrees?30 Jun 2008 15:56 GMT11
Hi, I am reading some notes of the precession effect on helicopter, and
it said the left of main blade is 90 degrees ahead of spin.
But why is it '90 degrees' and is  'ahead'???
Thanks.
Has anyone tested MOND?30 Jun 2008 14:37 GMT23
If F=ma breaks down at very low accelerations as claimed by MOND, has
any experiment been done to test its validity?
It seems to me that it would not be a very difficult experiment to
conduct.
Time symmetric physical laws30 Jun 2008 11:51 GMT21
Now, there is an idea I've nodded my head at a long time.  But when it
comes down to it, I'm not sure I could give an axiomatic definition
(i.e., something a little more rigorous than "looks the same when you
run it backwards, whatever that means).
Civilizations That Wish to Visit/Leave Our Planet are Already Allowed     to Do So30 Jun 2008 09:23 GMT3
As soon as an earth-like planet becomes discovered, it would seem
quite advantageous and appropriate for those who wish to join in
establishing their off-world presence would do so with a great deal
of pioneering spirit, so what would these new astronauts have to
Something Fun30 Jun 2008 09:15 GMT13
I was at work and I came up with this fun little thing. Who can tell m
what's wrong with it?
